Connect for Health Colorado

Connect for Health Colorado’s mission is to “increase access, affordability, and choice for individuals and small employers purchasing health insurance in Colorado.”

“In 2010, the Affordable Care Act (ACA) was created to help expand healthcare coverage and decrease healthcare costs for Americans.”

“Then, in 2011, Connect for Health Colorado was established by the Colorado General Assembly as a public, non-profit entity to create a health insurance marketplace. It opened for business on Oct. 1, 2013, for individuals, families and small employers across Colorado to purchase health insurance and get financial help to reduce costs.”

“As the official health insurance marketplace for Coloradans, Connect for HealthColorado provides:

• The only place where residents can apply for Premium Tax Credits and Cost-Sharing Reductions to lower the cost of private health insurance.

• Tools that allow customers to easily compare plans and prices from multiple insurance companies and search for preferred providers and medications.

• Qualified health plans which include essential benefits and protections (in accordance with the Affordable Care Act).

• A statewide customer support network of Customer Service Center Representatives, Assisters and licensed Brokers to help Coloradans find the best health plan for their needs and budget.”

Carol's Wish

“Cancer treatments can be expensive and worrying about finances can get in the way of regaining your health. A program of the Colorado Gynecologic Cancer Alliance, Carol’s Wish can help and is available to all women diagnosed with gynecologic cancers, regardless of income, insurance coverage, or citizenship status. “

“Our expert financial advocates are here to help you navigate through the financial aspect of your medical treatment. One of our advocates will connect with you to review your current medical coverage and clinical treatment plan and, if needed, work together to create a new, personalized strategy to minimize your financial burden going forward. They also may be aware of other financial assistance programs for which you may be eligible.”

Carol’s Wish was created in honor of Carol Dauer, who fought a three-year battle with ovarian cancer before passing away in 2017. Concerned about the extraordinary cost of cancer treatments that can be a heavy burden even for well-insured patients, it was her wish that no one should receive substandard medical care for financial reasons.
